Interview with David Castro, Past EYE Program Participant

Hello Environmental Stewards and Service Learners! Today’s post features an interview with David Castro, a former student at La Quinta High School and participant in the CREEC Desert EYE for Leaders Environmental Youth Experience program.  After graduating high school, David went on to further his environmental sciences studies in college, in part inspired by his experiences in the Desert EYE for Leaders program.

This short video (less than 10 minutes) interview provides some insight into the program from the point of view of a past student who participated in it. He shares his experiences from the program and talks a bit about all the different career paths that one can choose in the environmental sciences.

Thank you David, for a great interview and for sharing your experiences with us!

Students and teachers in the CREEC Region 10 RIMS areas (Riverside, Inyo, Mojave and San Bernardino counties) who are interested in participating the the Desert EYE for Leaders Environmental Youth Experience, please contact your Region 10 Coordinator, Jen Futterman or visit the CREEC region 10 web page for more contact info.

Please note the CREEC web site is temporarily down over the summer for redesign, but will be back soon! When it returns, you’ll find the CREEC events calendar to be a great resource for finding educational events both for students and for teachers earning their continuing education credits!
